Change begs itself.
I needed to do something different here. Too much has happened to remain the same. This will now be a home for mixtapes. I will still write about music that I love, sometimes even in the same fashion as before, but this place will change. I have a large mix backlog that can and will be shared, but I assembled one special for this occasion. Here is the inaugural Optimistic Underground mixtape:

Interesting change of focus for the site David. I’ve enjoyed listening to your mix a few times now so far. Very smooth and mellow. It flows really well too. Nice composition. I only guessed or had heard previously about half of the songs on the mix, so some nice new surprises I get to explore further. Thanks. I look forward as always to future posts. Peace! Yes, that Burial EP was one of the best surprises this year so far. Couldn’t think of another way to include that sound on a mix though so I feel lucky this came together. I hope you get a chance to check out some of the new artists – Ryan Teague in particular released possibly my favorite album of 2012 (so far) and I urge you to check it out. It’s actually a Souljaboy beat, as far as I know (never listened to him but the label said so)… I dig Clams Casino, think he definitely needs to do something more ambitious if he’s gonna be up there with the brainfeeder ppl and such, but that track is just too catchy and pretty. Thank you for listening to it! I’ll be much sneakier with the next one.
